It's Wedding Week Y'al!!

It's here y'all. We made it without having too many panic attacks or arguments or times when we said we just wished we had eloped.. And I'm SO ready for it!! It's been a busy past couple of weeks but oddly not too much left to do on my end, on mom's end on the other hand... oops! I've tried to let go of all the things that don't matter and that I don't really need or want to have a say in anymore just so that I can enjoy this week and get through it as happy as possible!

In the mean time I've been working out at Pure Barre getting my body in shape (and BOY does it work!!) taking Airborne because fiance has been a little sick, working on the out of town bags, finalized my rehearsal dinner outfit (Which one did I choose?? The white Zara number!! You'll see why once I wear it), purchased fiance a wedding present (shh it's a secret!), and buying last minute accessories for the day-of.

Here's a glimpse at the madness:

I just want to say if anyone has any advice, tips, suggestions, anything at all, I'd love to hear from you!! Your words definitely don't go unnoticed and I appreciate all comments thus far! I just wish you could all be here for the big day! ;)

xoxo,
a.

  1. So excited your wedding week is finally here! I think you said it best when you said you were just going to let things happen and not be too concerned about them. Have a blast and I can't wait to hear about it when you come back!!

  2. Here's one tip that's maybe a little out of the ordinary, but relevant for us folks who have a hard time letting go :) First, acknowledge to yourself (and really let it soak in) that NOT everything will go according to plan on the big day. Second, remember (and keep reminding yourself), that, in my opinion, the happier the bride is, the happier guests will be. Third, know that some of the things that will go awry on the big day can be easily and calmly fixed or clarified by you. If you can easily and calmly set whatever it is right, then by all means do so. Finally, know that there might be some things that go wrong that CANNOT be calmly or easily fixed by you (i.e. flowers or cake are wrong when you show up at the reception, DJ plays wrong song for your entrance, etc.). Know the difference, and do NOT pout or give ANY mental space to these things on the day of. Just DON'T, as it will not change what is in front of you, and will only make things worse! I promise you will regret sulking through your wedding MUCH more than you will ugly flowers! :) If it makes you feel any better, remember that you can always "discuss" with your vendors after the fact. All that being said, I know everything will go beautifully, and that you will have the best day!!
